Cry of the Hunters
Ralph is now all alone, and he decides to go again and talk to Jack because he doesn't think they are "that cruel". On his way he spots the sows head on the stick, and he knocks it down and gets the spear. He approaches Samneric and they are on Jacks team now, and they get punished for telling Ralph that they are going to attack him tomorrow. Ralph begs them to come back with him but they are too scared.
Ralph sleeps in the thicket near Jacks camp, and when he wakes up Jack is near him, and the boys start to throw rocks on the thicket. Then they see that it didn't work, so they try to smoke him with fire. He gets out and runs away, he finds another place to hide, but he realizes that the fire has taken over the forest. He runs and runs until he trips and falls by a naval officer's feet. The naval officer had seen the big fire over the forest and it had caught his attention. He decides to help the boys and take them off the island. Ralph starts to cry, because of all that he has been through and his loss.
