Piggy is one of the main characters in The Lord of the Flies, and he relates to our society today. He is the smartest from the boys, but because of his asthma, he doesn't have much strength to help out the boys with hunting and surviving on the island. The boys first didn't accept Piggy, but once his glasses helped them to light fire, they got more closer to him. He acts mature and tries to bring everyone together. Piggy and Ralph were the ones who found the Conch, and Piggy decided that the Conch can be used to respect each other. Whoever had the Conch had the right to speak. As soon as things get out of control, and the boys have to chose either Ralph or Jack, Piggy gets worried about what will happen to them, because he starts to realize that there are going to be problems. The boys make fun of Piggy and don't listen to what he says, which lead them to deaths and problems.
